Club Information

Borrisokane Apostolic work Society was founded in 1961. It was formed by Rev. Dean Cahill (RIP) in 1961.

The aim of the Apostolic Works Society is to share in missionary apostolate of the church by prayer, by helping to supply material and financial aid to those areas where the church is not yet rooted of fully established

This branch has worked well over the years and held the annual display with the Kilbarron branch for many years. We run some fundraising activities during the year, a coffee day, cake sale, and raffle held in December and during our display day in March we hold another raffle. There are some members that work from home making rosary beads for the missions.

We hold our meetings on the first Tuesday of each month, in the parish room: St Peter and Paul’s Church, we do not hold meetings during the summer months.

The officers of our Society are as follows:

President: Mrs Doreen Cahill

Vice President: Mrs. Nora Flannery

Secretary: Mrs. Nora Byrnes

Treasurer: Frank Carroll

Members: Mary Healy, Mary Corcoran, Anne Reddan, Maureen Mc Loughlin, Mary Coonan and Teresa McCarthy.

Lighting Committee.

Founded in 1999, this committee strive to bring a true sense of the Christmas Spirit to the town. Every year they go work hanging up a beautiful display of lights around the town. Not only do they light up the town but also our hearts.

 Tidy towns
