Borrisokane, Co. Tipperary is the Capital of lower Ormond, strategically situated on the N52/56 between Nenagh and Portumna, and on the N52 between Nenagh and Birr. It is close to the great national amenity of Lough Derg only eight miles to the west.

The Town originated in 1661 and was laid out by a Cromwellian Captain named Stopford. The land area is flat generally, 60 feet above sea level and is predominantly used for agricultural purposes (over 22,000 Hectares). Borrisokane can boast of schools, leisure, services, commercial, historical, catering, B & B, Pubs, Restaurants, and a Hotel. There are English language schools in the area, Also Boat hire, Fishing, Cycling and Horse riding facilities available.
